Former Marsh UK exec will oversee Capita’s MGA and managing agency units
Outsourcing firm Capita Insurance Services has named Colin Grint as chief executive of its corporate insurance division, effective 7 April.
His appointment follows the death of Andrew Beer, managing director of the corporate division, on 15 June last year.
However, Grint is not a direct replacement, as he will not oversee the back office functions that fell within Beer’s remit.
Grint joined Capita in April 2013. Since July 2013 he has also advised Lloyd’s on its Central Services Refresh modernisation programme.
He was previously at Marsh where he held a number of senior broking roles, including head of UK operations.
In his new role, Grint will focus on extending Capita’s corporate division into new areas and extending the size and scope of the business.
He wil be supported by Capita’s existing broker and carrier services, which are headed by Karen Clements.
He will also be responsible for Capita’s managing general agency (MGA) business, led by MGA director John Holm, and its Lloyd’s operation Capita Managing Agency, headed by Iain Bremner.
Capita group joint chief operating officer Vic Gysin said: “Capita Insurance Services has seen significant development and innovation in its corporate insurance business in recent years, Colin’s appointment reaffirms Capita’s commitment to support and invest in this industry.
“I am certain that under Colin’s leadership the range of insurance entities we will work with and the services we offer to them will substantially develop and grow.”
