Growth at Capita’s insurance distribution arm triggers move from Portsmouth to Lakeside
Capita’s insurance distribution business today announced the relocation of around 800 Portsmouth employees across town to new premises at Lakeside.
The new staff will have improved facilities and up-to-date technology at Lakeside in Portsmouth.
Mark Townsend, managing director of Capita’s insurance distribution business, said: “The business has experienced significant growth in the last 18 months securing contracts with companies such as Virgin Money and Pets at Home, so it made sense for us to further consolidate our divisions to ensure a healthy future for our employees and customers.
“From December onwards, all our operations at this site will be situated on one floor, creating a more productive environment for our staff, which in turn will benefit our customers who will received an increasingly streamlined and efficient service.”
The move has also tripled the amount of car parking spaces available.
Lakeside was previously the IBM UK headquarters and opening events for customers, partners and suppliers are planned for early 2012.
