The technology business has set itself the target of putting a roof over the heads of 38 homeless people this Christmas
London-based technology company, buzzmove has set itself the target of giving 38 homeless people a roof over their head this Christmas.
The Soho-based company, which helps movers compare removal firms, value their contents and arrange insurance, is donating up to £5.00 to homeless charity, Crisis for every home contents video survey completed up to 22nd December. Home movers need to agree to complete a digital survey via their tablet or smartphone, through one of buzzmove’s partner removal firms, for a donation to be made.
The business has set a target of reaching £1000 in the next three weeks.
A recent report from the National Audit Office (NAO) found that as of March this year, there were 77,240 households, including 120,540 children, in temporary accommodation.
Chief executive of buzzmove, Becky Downing said: “Just under a quarter of a million people are experiencing the worst forms of homelessness according to Crisis, with over 9,000 sleeping rough. It’s an issue we are all too aware of, being based in the heart of Soho.
“Just £26.08 pays for a bed for the night, 3 hot meals, a shower, clean clothes, a health check and medical treatment for one homeless person. We hope we can make a small difference this Christmas with the help of our customers.”
