Building society Norwich and Peterborough has expanded its insurance broking business through the acquisition of the general insurance business of Swaffham-based broker Insurance and Financial Services.
The building society said IFS, which brokers local commercial and personal lines policies, would be combined with Norwich and Peterborough Insurance Brokers (NPIB) to enhance the general services that the group provides. NPIB is already one of the largest insurance brokers in East Anglia.
The managing director of NPIB in Cambridge, David Farrington, said: "This is a mutually beneficial acquisition and IFS customers will now have access to the wider range of policies provided by NPIB."
