Budget has linked up with CDL to deliver its products to the market using the ‘Black Box' Internet package.

Black Box will interact with Budget's COMPAREtheMARKET.com tool. It allows data to be taken from all affiliated sites in a consistent xml format without disruption, thereby reducing pressure on affiliated websites, telecom networks and brokers' back-office systems.

The system also incorporates previous claims or convictions to improve the accuracy of quotations.

Rick Slater, CDL's general manager, said: “Comparative quotation websites are great for the consumer as long as they deliver accurate quotations quickly. Our Black Box solution was developed in direct response to brokers looking for a robust solution to deal with the rapidly growing aggregator volumes.

Using the CDL solution also means that insurance quotations can be obtained from other members of the CDL broking community, not just Budget affiliates.

Andy Roberts, Budget's Internet technology manager, commented: “CDL's Black Box solution is very fast, very efficient and easy to implement and has allowed us to increase the number of brands offered via our price comparison tool COMPAREtheMARKET.com.”
