Broker Network completes expansion of development team in restructure plans

Broker Network has expanded its broker development team as part of its restructure and transformational plans.

The network has hired Ian Wainwright as head of broker development for its Premier members and Angus Montgomery as broker development manager (BDM) for the Advantage tier.

Wainwright will work closely with Broker Network sales and marketing director Richard Pitt and the senior team to drive Premier member growth, protection and support, while Montgomery will work with the Scottish and Northern England Advantage members.

Each BDM now looks after members of a specific tier, helping brokers with business placements, working closely with insurer partners and linking them together for networking opportunities. The BDMs are also the first port of call for any queries that that a member may have.

Back in September Towergate announced it was simplifying and rebranding its network offering to focus on growth, protection and support.

Previously the network had seven tiers of membership but this has now been reduced to three; Premier, Advantage and Countrywide.

Pitt said over the past six months the network has been investing in strengthening its field-based team to help regional brokers grow.

It now has a team of 21 individuals working as part of the BDM and new sales division.

Pitt said: “Each of our broker development managers now focus solely on a specific membership tier (Premier, Advantage or Countrywide) enabling them to invest quality time and effort with  a smaller group of brokers to really drive and deliver shared commitments and  best practice.”

Wainwright has joined Broker Network from Poole-based brokerage E. Coleman and Co, where he was divisional director and prior to that, he was the broker sales director at Ecclesiastical Insurance.
