Will the FSA use identity cards to control who can sell insurance? Well that's the latest rumour about FSA regulation. The talk over Christmas drinks and nibbles is that the FSA will require brokers to show customers an identity card each time they provide a quotation.

The FSA laughed off the idea, when Backchat put it to the mandarins. But wags have suggested that it might just have some merit. After all, it would help to reduce incidents of people impersonating insurance brokers - which could be a heinous crime after January 2005.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
