Insurer moves to improve service to brokers.
Brit has taken steps to improve its service to brokers with the launch of a UK claims hub.
The hub is part of a global initiative and the insurer has already opened a similar operation in Atlanta, USA.
Brit’s UK claims hub will be based in Cardiff after it agreed a partnership with loss adjuster Cunningham Lindsey. Its US hub is run in partnership with Crawford & Company.
The insurer said the hubs would provide a suite of local claims services to brokers, cover holders and customers. They will also offer claims notification, desktop handling and loss adjusting.
The scheme will aid the collection and collation of local claims data in order to provide access to consistent management information for brokers, cover holders and underwriters.
Bob Foster, group director of claims at Brit Insurance, said: “Providing a local service backed by a global platform gives a model that will vastly improve all aspects of the claims process, leading to quicker decisions at all stages.
“A reduction in processing times, local payment of claims and ready access to accurate management information and data all bring a better experience for the broker and end customer.”
Gerry Loughney, chairman of Cunningham Lindsey UK, said of the hub: “From the pilot through to the current implementation, innovative thinking and working in partnership have been the touchstones to success.”
