Insurer launches its Global Claims Hubs initiative
Brit Insurance has announced the launch of its ‘Global Claims Hubs initiative’. The first two hubs are in the UK and the USA and are operated in partnership with claims loss adjusters Cunningham Lindsey and Crawford & Company.
The hubs, located in Cardiff and Atlanta, will provide a range of local claims services to brokers, coverholders and customers claims.
Brit hopes the initiative will also aid the collection and collation of local claims data, providing ready access to consistent management information for brokers, coverholders and underwriters, as well as enabling and enhancing control of service provider performance.
Further hubs are to be established in Europe and South East Asia within the next 18 months.
Bob Foster, group director of Claims at Brit Insurance, commented: “As the first UK-based insurer and Lloyd’s underwriter to open dedicated claims hubs for brokers and coverholders, Brit Insurance is at the forefront of the drive to improve global customer service. This initiative is a key part of our strategy to get closer to our customers.
“Providing a local service backed by a global platform gives a model that will vastly improve all aspects of the claims process, leading to quicker decisions at all stages. A reduction in processing times, local payment of claims and ready access to accurate management information and data all bring a better experience for the broker and end customer.”
Gerry Loughney, chairman of Cunningham Lindsey United Kingdom, added:“Cunningham Lindsey was very excited to be selected by Brit Insurance to work with them in creating and proving the hub concept. From the initial UK pilot through to the current implementation, innovative thinking and working in partnership have been the touchstones to success. This now proven concept has been shown to provide a best of class claims service to Brit Insurance, Cunningham Lindsey, brokers and policyholders.”
