Jennifer Martin and Janet Henderson become divisional underwriting directors
Brit has named Jennifer Martin as divisional underwriting director of its international legal and professional risks division, and Janet Henderson as divisional underwriting director of its North American liability division.
Both take up these newly-created positions immediately, reporting to recently-appointed Brit Global Markets chief executive officer Matthew Wilson.
Wilson said: “Both Jenny and Janet have been key contributors to the success of our professional risks division within Global Markets, building market leading teams and accounts. I am delighted that under their leadership, their specialist knowledge and considerable experience will continue to drive the business forward.”
Martin has two decades of experience in the insurance industry and joined Brit Insurance as UK and international PI portfolio manager in 2000. Prior to this, she spent three years at London & Edinburgh Insurance as UK PI manager and a further three years at St Paul International as UK PI class underwriter. She started her career at Sun Alliance.
Meanwhile, Henderson joined Brit Insurance in 2003 and became head of North American professional liability in 2006. A qualified actuary, she began underwriting in 1989. She was deputy casualty underwriter at R.A. Edwards Syndicate 219, before moving to St Paul Syndicate management in 1999 as casualty underwriter for Sutcliffe Syndicate 1411.
