Neil McMillan joins from Canopius
Brit has appointed Neil McMillan as class underwriter – property liability, within its Global Markets business.
McMillan begins the new role on Friday and will report to divisional underwriting director Jonathan Nunes-Carvalho. He joins Brit after four years at Canopius Managing Agents.
As an underwriter in Canopius’ North American Facilities Department, he was lead underwriter in property and casualty business emanating from MGAs. Prior to Canopius, McMillan was vice president in Alea’s North American Facilities division for five years and Deputy Underwriter at Zurich Specialties in London for three years. He began his insurance career at Lloyd’s Syndicate 660 (C.J. Smith) in 1982.

"To attract an underwriter of his calibre and experience is a great reflection on the reputation and quality of Brit Insurance’s wider Property team.”
