Pair who admitted adding items to insurance claim let out
British tourists Rebecca Turner and Shanti Andrews who were held in Brazil for attempted insurance fraud have had their convictions overturned on a technicality, Sky reports.
Lawyers Shanti Andrews and Rebecca Turner, both aged 23, were also found guilty of falsely reporting their luggage had been stolen.
The pair have been acquitted because their hostel room had been searched without a warrant. They are free to leave the country, officials say.
During their trial, Andrews admitted adding items to the list of claimed stolen goods, including a purse, a mobile phone and a digital camera.
