Co-founder Palmer to head Asian insurance hub
Berry Palmer and Lyle (BPL) Global has opened its second Asian office in Singapore’s central business district, Raffles Place.
The new operation will be regulated by the monetary authority of Singapore.
BPL co-founder Anthony Palmer has been appointed chief executive of the team, after relocating from London. Harry McIndoe has been given the deputy role.
The political risk insurance group, specialising in insurance programmes for multinational corporates, banks and financial institutions engaged in international trade and investment also has offices in London, Paris and Hong Kong.
Palmer said: “Our immediate focus will be local financial institutions including the banks, where we see the biggest gap in the market for our services.”
BPL chairman Charles Berry said: “The decision to open an office in Singapore reflects the importance of the city-state as an insurance hub for the Asia-Pacific region, a core focus for our global growth.”
