Broker enters exclusive partnership with Vehicle Systems Installation Board
Commercial broker Bollington has entered into a joint venture with the national regulatory and accreditation body for after sales vehicle systems installers.
The strategic tie up with the Vehicle Systems Installation Board (VSIB) will see Bollington provide exclusive cover tailored for members who are accredited installers of security and other systems for personal, commercial and plant vehicles.
The deal builds on Bollington’s established presence in the motor trade, being the largest motor trade broker in the UK SME sector and having been insurance providers to the trade for over 30 years. It is also in line with Bollington’s strategy to partner with key federations, trade bodies and associations in its chosen specialist niches.
Bollington chairman Paul Moors said: “We are delighted to have secured this tie up with VSIB which is at the forefront of vehicle risk management and which adds further to our standing as a motor trade specialist.
He added: “The insurance industry is very good at sending ambulances to the bottom of the cliff when it should perhaps focus more on building fences at the top and we believe this relationship will prove increasingly beneficial in the coming years, not just for VSIB and Bollington, but policyholders and insurers as well.”
Stephen Coney, general manager at VSIB said: “We are extremely pleased to have an association with such a well-regarded specialist as Bollington. Many people may regard vehicle security as something manufacturers have perfected, but if a million ordinary cars have the same system installed in the same way, it only takes someone to obtain the manual and they have access to a million vehicles. Plant theft is also a big issue so it makes a lot of sense to join forces with the insurance industry to find ways of preventing these thefts and the losses that result.”
