The Bollington Group is set to become the largest UK motor trade broker in the SME market after acquiring FM Green.

The deal will give Bollington an annual premium income of £70m. FM Green controls gross written premiums of approximately £17m.

The acquisition will consolidate Bollington's position in the affinity and schemes sector. The group will now have more than 40 account brokers, giving it the largest sales force of any provincial broker.

Andrew Rogers, managing director of FM Green will become managing director of Bollington. FM Green Chairman Ian Richens will become director of affinity and schemes for Bollington.

The FM Green brand will remain.

Bollington will continue to look for more purchases as part of its growth plans.
