Votes follow 60-day consultation in July and August
Biba members are preparing to vote on changes to some of its regulations in the coming weeks.
Following a 60-day consultation, ballots will be cast at Biba’s next extraordinary general meeting (EGM) on 28 October.
One of the proposed amendments to Biba’s articles of association is that instead of having separate boards for small brokers with less than £1m turnover in the north and south, there will be one board nationally that will send two representatives to the main board.
Biba chief executive Steve White said: “These revised articles represent the collective view of members, gleaned through both face-to-face discussions with members during the spring and then again through the 60-day consultation period during July and August.
“Our original ideas have been modified as a result of member feedback and the proposed Articles reflect what we believe to be the will of the majority of our members.
“We believe these revised articles will allow us to modernise our governance structure and allow us to be a top-tier trade association for the 21st century.”
Members can also vote remotely by email.
