Scheme covers those on hospital waiting lists and the elderly
The British Insurance Brokers’ Association (Biba) has appointed All Clear Insurance to provide its new non-standard medical travel scheme.
Biba Medical Travel will allow Biba members to provide travel insurance to people on existing hospital waiting lists and those still undergoing medical treatment, including chemotherapy.
It also provides optional travelling companion cover, providing cover for non-policyholders in a group of travellers if the medical condition of the insured forces them to cancel their trip.
The scheme also includes cover for elderly travellers and those with pre-existing medical conditions.
Biba head of technical services Peter Staddon said: “We are very pleased with this partnership as we are receiving more and more calls from the public who are having difficulty in finding good quality, cost effective cover. Our new scheme with All Clear will help plug this gap.”
