Benfield has strengthened its global facultative solutions team further following mass resignations last year.
The reinsurance broker has appointed former PWS director, Tony Dryden, who will be based in Benfield's Singapore office, focusing on property and energy facultative reinsurance.
“Tony is a highly regarded facultative reinsurance broker with experience in producing and handling international placements across Asia,” said Dominic Christian, chief executive of Benfield's International Division. “He will further strengthen Benfield's property and energy facultative capabilities in the Asia-Pacific region.”
Dryden, who rejoins Benfield after an eight year absence, is the latest in a growing number of appointments to the depleted team.
His arrival follows the departure of 20 members of staff in October 2006, including head of the division Elliot Richardson, who left to join Aon.
Benfield received a £9.5m settlement payout from Aon Re Global earlier this month after several members of its facultative solutions team defected to the rival broker.
