The partners of Beachcroft LLP and Davies Arnold Cooper LLP have voted to back the merger of the two law firms.

Management teams from both firms are finalising the outstanding details on creating what they claim will be the second biggest insurance legal practice.

The combined firm, which will launch as DAC Beachcroft LLP on 1 November, 2011, will have a turnover of £175m plus and over 2,000 staff, including 230 partners.

In addition to UK offices in Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Newport (Beachcroft Claims Ltd) and Winchester, DAC Beachcroft will have international locations in Ireland (Beachcroft Dublin), Mexico, New Zealand (Beachcroft New Zealand Ltd), Singapore and Spain.

Beachcroft managing partner Paul Murray said: "We are very pleased to be creating a firm with such considerable strength across its core markets. Both firms specialise in the insurance sector and the combined firm will provide insurance clients with a distinctive, full-service offering in the UK and internationally.”

Davies Arnold Cooper senior partner Danny Gowan said: "The merger brings together complementary strengths in both our teams and the business processes that underpin how we work with clients. In addition to the benefits it provides to our insurance clients, it doubles the size of each firm’s existing real estate practice. I am particularly encouraged that both firms have similar cultures which will help ensure a successful merger."
