Danny Maleary to become business director

Danny Maleary has been promoted to the board of Axiom Consulting (Axiom), the (re)insurance business support specialist.

The promotion recognises Maleary's success in delivering new business and his contribution to repositioning Axiom as a specialist business support partner in the London market. He leads the new business development team with a particular focus on the brokers and managing agency sector throughout 2008.

Maleary has over 20 years experience in the London insurance market, since joining Alexander Howden Group Claims Consultancy in 1987. He was promoted through the business as it was acquired by Aon in 1997 and rebranded as Axiom in 2001. He was a senior member of the Axiom sales team at the time of the company’s MBO from Aon, backed by Royal London Private Equity (now RJD partners) in 2004.

Tim Riddell, chief executive of Axiom, said: “We believe in rewarding talent and Danny’s promotion to the board recognises our commitment to developing the skills of our team and providing opportunities for the best people to develop from within the business as well as making strategic appointments from outside. Danny has made a major contribution to repositioning of Axiom in the London market and has been pivotal in delivering our exceptional record of recent new business success.

“This appointment marks an important step in the implementation of our business strategy. We are continuing to strengthen our senior management team and I anticipate being in a position to announce further board-level appointments of well-respected London market specialists in the coming months.”

Maleary, business development director, Axiom said: “We have made huge strides in moving the market’s perception of Axiom from being simply a trusted supplier of specialised back office services into being recognised as the source of specialist business consultancy, technical excellence and people resource right across the (re)insurance market. I am looking forward to continuing to develop our strategy and further building our business as a member of the senior management team.”
