App can be used by policy holders to report accident details
Aviva is launching its 'MyClaim' iPhone application for policy holders to file motor insurance claims remotely from their iPhone.
The free app sends information directly to Aviva to start the claims process.
The iPhone application uses GPS technology to automatically locate the scene of an accident, pin pointing the user’s exact location on a map.
Policy holders can use the phone’s camera to take photos of the location and any damaged caused, as well as a voice recorder so eye witness accounts can be recorded at the scene of the accident.
Teresa Copping, motor claims director at Aviva said, “Being in an accident can be very traumatic and stressful for motorists, irrespective of physical injury. Aviva’s MyClaim app has been designed to make it easier for customers to log the details they will need when they register their claim.
"On-screen prompts will guide people to capture important information which will ensure the whole claims experience goes as smoothly as possible."
The app can also be used to call the emergency services and to call for roadside assistance.
