Aviva Launches 2017 charity fund
Aviva has launched its 2017 Aviva Community Fund, which gives grants to local charities and good causes that are nominated by brokers.
Now in its third year, the Aviva Community Fund developed from a broker initiative which began seven years ago.
The competition invites members of the local community and brokers to submit an idea that will make a difference to a local group or charity they’re passionate about, with the chance to secure funding ranging from up to £1,000 - £25,000.
Since 2010 Aviva has helped 191 broker supported causes, awarding almost £1m in funding. And this year there will continue to be a bespoke broker prize pot to help those broker-supported causes.
More than 550 groups will receive funding as part of the Aviva Community Fund judging process, but in addition to that, Aviva will give £200 to any project submitted by an Aviva customer or employee that doesn’t win funding through votes or the judging panel.
Tom Daniell, Retail Marketing Director at Aviva said: “Over the years we have seen the positive impact that the Aviva Community Fund can have to a real variety of community groups.
“This year, in total, it will finance over 550 projects across different funding levels ranging from £1,000 up to £25,000, as we believe good projects come in all shapes and sizes.”
Nominations for awards close on 10 October. Voting opens on 24 October and closes on 21 November. The winners will be announced on 16 January.
Last year’s winners of the top £25,000 awards included Buglife, the invertebrate Conservation Trust, which was sponsored by TEn Insurance Services broker network.
