Aviva has appointed Jason Chambers and David Dixey in the liability team of its underwriting, pricing and product business unit.
Chambers, who was already at Aviva, has been appointed head of liability. He will have responsibility for Aviva’s liability press release classes and the sustainable, profitable growth of the book.
Dixey joins Avivam from Zurich as head of liability development. At Zurich he worked with Axel Schmidt, Aviva’s chief underwriting officer, who joined Aviva at the beginning of 2010.
Commercial underwriting director, Ian Ferguson, said: “We’ve come a long way since we announced that we’re back in liability just 18 months ago.
"Our goal is still the same: we want to be the most recommended liability insurer. Jason and David’s appointments reflect our ambition and dedication to the liability market, and demonstrate our enhanced expertise."
He added: "They both have a wealth of experience and knowledge of the marketplace. As we look to build on our existing presence in the liability business, it is imperative that we have the capability to deliver in what is an increasingly competitive and challenging market."
