Ascot appoints liability head

Ascot Underwriting has hired Paul Simpson to head up its liability account.

Simpson was most recently at Catlin where he was responsible for the marine liability account. Prior to that he was with Wellington in the general liability division.

Ascot chief executive Andrew Brooks, said: "I am delighted that Paul is joining Ascot.

"His experience and skills in the liability market will allow us to expand our current marine portfolio and look at other niche areas of liability business that could prove attractive to Ascot going forward."
