Commercial underwriter hires broker development manager and senior underwriter
Arista Insurance has increased the key resources available to its North West based brokers with the appointment of a broker development manager and senior underwriter at its recently established Manchester branch.
Mike Shallcross joins as broker development manager and will be responsible for the development and ongoing maintenance of Arista’s broker panel in the North West.
Prior to joining Arista, Mr Shallcross was a director of Greystone Insurance Services before its acquisition by The Bollington Group. He has also worked for Jardines, Lowndes Lambert and Smithson Mason Group.
Dave Carroll, who joins from AXA, has been appointed as senior commercial underwriter with responsibility for developing business across all lines of insurance.
Both Shallcross and Carroll will report to regional manager Paul Dooley. He said: “Since the opening of our Manchester branch earlier this year we have already seen considerable growth in the business we write with our brokers based in the North.
"It is however essential that we continue to offer the high level of service that Arista partners expect as we expand. The appointment of both Mike and Dave will therefore significantly increase the expert resource that our brokers in the North have access to and provide Arista with the resource required for further growth in this key region.”
He added: “Mike has 26 years experience, much of which has been with major brokers. With the support of the rest of the team, he will ensure that our northern brokers enjoy a successful and profitable partnership with us while Dave, with 22 years underwriting experience, will significantly boost the technical expertise they have access to.”
These latest appointments bring the total number in Arista’s Manchester based team to six.
