Commercial underwriter to target the North with latest appointment
Commercial insurance underwriting agency APC has recruited a fourth broker development manager (BDM) as part of its aggressive regional expansion across England into Northern Ireland and Wales.
The appointment of Susan Blackley, which furthers this aim and APC’s geographic reach, is also part of the company’s ambitious plans to double revenues within three years and triple them within five.
Blackley takes up her role today covering the North West and North East and brings 25 years of industry experience. Previously she held the position of business development executive for Marsh Ltd since 2007, where she developed business in the East Midlands. Prior to that Susan was underwriting manager at IGI working across all product lines.
In November APC kicked off its BDM recruitment drive with the appointment of its first three: Ryan Squire, Paul Craig and Andrew Yemm. These cover the Midlands and North Wales; North London and the East of England; the South West and South Wales respectively.
Head of business development Derek Russell, said: “We are extremely pleased to welcome Susan to APC and that we are attracting such high caliber talent so quickly. Other BDMs who will complete the regional structure will be announced shortly.
“As well as BDMs we are very pleased to be attracting the interest of brokers who have and are responding well to our service driven proposition. It is only with their support that we can meet our ambitious targets, which is why we are offering to support them in ways that make a real difference to their business.”
