New role is in addition to Risk Solutions CEO position
Aon has given Aon Risk Solutions chief executive Steve McGill the additional role of group president.
In this new role, McGill will oversee the development of Aon’s overall growth strategy and opportunity planning, primarily focused on the firm’s Risk Solutions segment.
This segment encompasses McGill’s own Aon Risk Solutions unit, which houses Aon’s insurance broking and risk consulting capabilities, and reinsurance broker Aon Benfield.
The aim of the role is to achieve greater coordination across the company, which Aon says puts it in a stronger position to deliver value for clients and represents the next step in reaching its growth objectives.
“Steve is an exceptional leader for our firm,” Aon chief executive officer Greg Case (pictured) said in a statement. “His leadership has been instrumental in developing our teams and building Aon Risk Solutions into the preeminent risk management and insurance brokerage firm in the world today. We are excited that he is taking on this new role and confident he will bring the same focus, passion and leadership capabilities he has demonstrated in Aon Risk Solutions to the rest of the firm.”
