Stuart Lawson to head brokers trade credit division.
Stuart Lawson has been appointed head of Aon Trade Credit (ATC) to service existing clients and new business in an era when credit insurance has become a crucial component of a company’s financial health.
Managing a team of 100 employees in seven offices across the UK, Lawson will be responsible for delivering credit insurance cover and receivables management, including debt collection, buyer information and trade finance.
Lawson has worked for ATC for 15 years, initially joining as a graduate with legacy company Credit Insurance Association. Previously head of business development, he will be bringing experience in this field to drive growth in multinational and mid-sized corporate accounts, and further establish the broker in the SME arena.
Lawson said: “Despite the challenges of today’s volatile economic environment, we have the opportunity to optimise the benefits of coverage through policy management and the advice that we provide to clients, along with new initiatives. Equally important is the additional investment in, and focus on, our people through training and personal development so they can continue to provide the best advice.”
The new head of ATC will be reporting into Robert Brown, CEO of Aon Corporate. He added: “Stuart's business development skills, together with his passion for client service and his ability to build the best teams with the right talent, make him ideally positioned to lead Aon Trade Credit UK and to ensure the team remains the leader in the market and the first choice for clients.”
