Aon Corporation will remove an additional 400 positions during its three-year restructure. The US-based broker has increased its initial estimate of 1,400 employee positions to be eliminated by the end of 2007 to 1,800.

In an official Securities and Exchange Commission filing, Aon Corporation also increased its estimate of the charges resulting from the restructure from $250m to $262m, with expected savings of $180m, compared with $150m in the previous estimate.

An Aon spokesman said that the additional retrenchments would not affect the UK business.
