Simon Millar joins Lockton as director
Erinaceous Insurance Services (EIS), a division of ailing property services group Erinaceous, has been hit by another departure with the loss of business development director Simon Millar.
Millar, who has left the company to become a director in Lockton’s real estate and construction division, is the second member of the EIS business development team to depart in less than a month – and the latest in a string of senior departures including managing director Andy Halstead, and director of insurance and underwriting, Nick Crocker.
Millar follows Andy Poole, who left to take up a senior position at Lloyd’s broker, Miles Smith, at the end of December.
A spokesman for Lockton said that Millar, who was responsible for UK property investors and developing and managing a regional sales force, was Erinaceous’ biggest fee earner and top new business developer during the past two years, responsible for bringing on board clients including Big Yellow, Drivers Jonas and Alpha Real Capital.
Executive chairman of EIS, Leslie Goodman recently said that the company was in the process of appointing replacements for the various senior departures, and conceded that it needed more customer-facing staff in order to get back to full speed.
The news follows the group’s announcement on 14 January that it was taking offers for its insurance services division after it received a number of significant approaches from interested parties, including insurers, brokers and private equity sources.
Since the announcement, shares in the group have declined slightly to 2.85p.
