Amlin poaches Zurich property team

Amlin has expanded its UK property team with the arrival of a team of five underwriters from Zurich.

Team leader David Hancock joins as leading class underwriter, property and package and reports into Amlin UK underwriting director, Brian Carpenter.

Hancock has 22 years’ experience as a property underwriter with Royal Insurance, Northern Star, London and Edinburgh (later Norwich Union) and, since 2003, with Zurich. There he set up the Zurich London market property owners’ team, building it from four to fifty strong and developing a profitable account.

His responsibility at Amlin UK is likewise to build an integrated team and develop the commercial combined and property owners’ accounts. To that end, the existing Chelmsford commercial combined team led by Michelle Sykes and the London and Norwich team led by Graham Kerr, will report into Hancock.
