AIG Europe has revamped its Lifeline Plus policy for the group personal accident and travel market.

Among the 27 upgrades are:

• Free personal accident cover for partners and children of any covered employee
• Personal liability is now £5m per person per trip
• Automatic corporate events cover for all employees and guests.

Guy Wilson, AIG Europe's vice president, accident & health, commented: “With changing business habits and more external threats than ever before, such as terrorism and natural disasters, the Status Quo is not a concept that has any validity in this market. Some believe that group personal accident & travel is an undifferentiated product, except on the basis of price. We know from our market research that this is far from the case, so we have made further changes to offer brokers and clients a choice in this competitive field.

“For example, we have responded to an aging workforce by removing the age limit — this helps remove the possibility of discrimination and the inconvenience of arranging separate cover. We've also added automatic holiday travel cover for directors who already purchase business travel cover, this cover extending to their partners and children also.”
