Jean Park will also replace Martin Jackson as risk committee chair when he retires in April
Admiral has appointed Jean Park as an independent non-executive director (INED).
In her new role she will join both the remuneration and risk committees and will help to provide board oversight of the group’s risk management framework.
Park was previously the head of compliance and audit for Scottish Widows and risk management director for the Insurance and Investment Division at Lloyds TSB.
The insurer said Park was chosen for her extensive knowledge of risk governance and risk management frameworks. Up until June 2013 she was the group chief risk officer for Phoenix Group, one of the UK’s largest specialist closed life and pension fund consolidator.
She will also replace Martin Jackson as chair of the risk committee when he retires in April.
Admiral Group chairman Alastair Lyons said: “I am delighted to have someone of Jean’s experience joining the board of Admiral to provide the continuity of strong and effective leadership of the board’s oversight of our risk management framework, following Martin Jackson’s retirement in April.”
