Contract follows Allianz’s decision to reduce the number of motor body repair sites to “gain operational efficiencies”

Nationwide Accident Repair Services (NARS) has signed a new contract with Allianz worth £10m a year to provide accident repair and management services to the insurer’s UK customers.

Allianz will use a range of Nationwide’s vehicle repair services as one of two preferred suppliers for the insurer. These include mobile and specialist glass services, courtesy vehicles and bodyshop-based repairs.

The move follows Allianz’s decision to cut the number of its individual motor body repair sites and consolidate its supply chain, to gain “operational efficiencies and provide enhanced customer experience”.

Allianz motor damage supplier controller Paul Ashton said: “Following many months of customer research and analysis, the further consolidation of the Allianz repair network comes as a result of changing industry dynamics, increasing regulatory demands and a growing customer base.

“This is an exciting time for Allianz and I am very much looking forward to working closely with our chosen partners to ensure that our service delivery will be market leading.”

NARS chief executive Michael Wilmshurst added: “Allianz’s initiative is a progressive step and with our national network, common technology platform and skilled and committed team, we believe that we can help to deliver efficiency gains and first class services.”

In June NARS extended its contract with AXA to cover additional work for the insurer’s personal lines customers, in a deal also worth £10m,

Previously, the company had provided repair services to AXA’s commercial customers.
