The Association of British Insurers (ABI) has criticised the government's decision not to lower the drink drive alcohol limit.
The ABI said it has waited for four years for the government decision, and it is disappointed with the result as it fully supported lowering it.
ABI's motor manager Jo Dagustun said: "The evidence all points to the fact that driving ability deteriorates well before the current limit is reached.
"The government's own analysis suggests that such a measure could save 50 lives and prevent 250 serious and 1200 minor injuries on the UK roads every year.
"Most of our European colleagues have accepted this evidence and acted on it - it is time for the UK to do the same."
