Revenue also up by 11%.

Abbey Protection has reported a 9% growth in pre-tax profits to £7.3m on revenue up 11% to £27.3m for the year ended 31 December 2007.

The company also revealed a claims ratio of 69.7%.

Colin Davison, chief executive of Abbey Protection, said: “2007 was another very successful year for Abbey Protection.

"We experienced growth across all areas of the Group, emphasising the strength and non-cyclical nature of our business model, and our core trading divisions consolidated their positions as market leaders in their respective fields.

"The independent compliance services market looks set for continued growth and we are confident of strengthening further our position as the leading supplier of legal and professional fees insurance protection to UK SMEs.”

Tony Shearer, chairman of Abbey Protection, said: “Abbey Protection had an excellent year, culminating in the Group’s successful flotation in November.

"2007 also saw the successful launch of Abbey HR and the Group is extremely well placed to continue to deliver positive returns for shareholders and to take advantage of opportunities as they present themselves.”
