Insurance broker AA Insurance Services has joined Biba.
The move expands Biba's membership portfolio across all areas of intermediary activity, from small high street companies to Lloyd's firms and the leading international brokers.
Biba chief executive Mike Williams said: "We are delighted to welcome AA Insurance Services into membership. This is a significant step forward for Biba's business strategy into the 21st century and I would like to acknowledge the role that George Nixon, our former chairman, played in driving our strategy forward.
"During the initial discussions it was clear that the AA wishes to join forces with Biba in representing and influencing the market and the industry - the fact that we have access where it matters most. A key part of our role is to represent brokers and intermediaries in a highly professional way with the government, regulators, insurers, the media and others.
"A strong trade association is an invaluable resource and, in the last two years, Biba has strengthened its lobbying powers and successfully tackled key insurance issues such as: regulation, flooding, terrorism, and recently, liability."
AA Insurance Services managing director Andrew Briscoe said: "The insurance industry is undergoing important organisational and regulatory changes. It is important to us that we play a central role working with all of the key bodies who are helping to shape our business in the future. We are delighted to add to that membership of Biba."
