Broker to be ‘heavily involved’ in trade body’s activities
Broking firm AA Insurance has joined Biba.
The broker, part of breakdown recovery company the Automobile Association, will become “heavily involved” in the trade body’s activities.
AA Insurance director Simon Douglas will be involved in Biba’s new advisory board structure.
Compliance head Stephen Tearle has joined Biba’s regulation working party and panel director John Close has joined the trade body’s motor panel.
Biba chief executive Steve White said: “We are delighted to welcome the AA into membership.
“The AA is a very well respected broker representing around 2 million insurance customers and we look forward to working with them on many of the Manifesto points, but with a particular focus on the motor insurance market.”
Douglas added: “Biba is an important organisation representing the broking market and with a strong voice in parliament and elsewhere.
“We’re looking forward to taking a very active role. There are many issues in common between our two organisations and I’m extremely pleased that we will be able to add the strength of our voice to Biba’s.”
