Towergate has strengthened its Midlands broking team with the appointment of three new managing directors. Paul Watts has joined from Oval, Mark Minton from RBR Insurance Group of Ilkley, and Mike Smith from Aviva.

Meanwhile, rival Jelf Insurance Brokers has swooped for two Towergate staff. Rob Rees has been appointed managing director of schemes and affinities, while Paul Williams has also joined. Theresa Stapleton has moved from RBS to become operations director and Tony Parker, from Oval, is new business development director for the private client business.
Appointment
Bollington Insurance Brokers has been appointed as the preferred insurance provider for the Age England Association. The association represents a membership of more than 300 independent charities with a combined turnover of around £170m.
Contract
Insurance technology firm Quindell Portfolio has landed a £120m contract, to February 2015, to provide services to the policyholders of more than half of the top 10 UK insurers through one of the UK’s largest insurance intermediaries.
