1 Answer Network has launched a new software solution that enables brokers to do their commercial and personal lines business on one platform, Insurance Times can reveal.

The network has teamed up with CDL STRATA software to launch 1 Answer Commercial e-Solution (1ACeS) in a bid to strengthen its commercial offering.

Managing director Paul Muir said: “We have seen significant growth and a growing interest in the commercial side of the business and an understanding among brokers that it is beneficial to be able to offer both commercial and personal lines on one platform.”

He continued: “The process currently used to write commercial business can be laborious and time-consuming. We saw a huge gap in the market for a simplified and easy-to-access platform taking away the ‘mystique’ often put up as the reasoning only certain brokers can write certain business.

“1ACeS will revolutionise the way commercial business is written and we are delighted to be able to offer it to our members, CDL users and of course the whole broker market. We are so proud to deliver to the market place a truly versatile and user friendly system that will at last give brokers the ability to write personal lines as well as commercial/SME all on the same platform.”

1 Answer Network said the new system will improve the link between commercial and personal lines and dispel the myth that writing commercial business can be more complicated than personal lines.

The network said that the system will provide members with a full quote on a range of products as well as electronic quote presentations for commercial risks directed towards insurers for a quick turnaround. It will also offer the full back office suite of accounts, diary and letters that personal lines system already offer. Furthermore, the system will provide electronic documentation to clients, thus cutting postal costs and improving communication links with insurers.

1 Answer Network said it has a waiting list of insurers eager to sign up.

It added that it was one of a number of products in the pipeline that it was looking at to boost growth over the next few years.
