New chief executives installed across Zurich's general insurance business
Zurich has made six key appointments in its general insurance business.
Zurich said the appointments are related to the ongoing review of its GI business, part of a group-wide initiative to clarify accountability, focus on responsibility and reduce complexity.
Zurich's six market-facing GI businesses will be headed immediately (with one exception) by the following executives:
- Johnny Chen is chief executive of Zurich Asia-Pacific
- Mike Foley is chief executive of Zurich North America commercial
- Saad Mered is chief executive of Zurich Middle East & Africa
- Peter Rebrin is chief executive of Zurich Latin America
- Mario Vitale is chief executive of Zurich global corporate
- Patrick Manley becomes chief executive of Zurich Europe (effective 1 January 2011)
Manley replaces Annette Court, who left Zurich on 1 July. He has been chief executive of Zurich Ireland since January 2007.
All six will report to Mario Greco, chief executive of Zurich general insurance.
Zurich is set to give further details of its new GI structure and strategy on December 2 at its next investors’ day.
