Oval's Patrick O’Connell is one of two boardroom promotions

Oval has made two senior appointments to its board, Insurance Times can reveal.

Patrick O’Connell, who was previously Oval's regional managing director for the South, is now heading up the insurance broking side of the business as managing director, insurance broking.

He is also joining Oval's senior executive committee and will report to group managing director Jeff Herdman.

O'Connell's new role draws similarities to the managing director of insurance broking role previously held by Howard Pepper and made redundant by Oval in June 2009.

Oval's Eastern divisional director, Peter Blanc, has also been promoted to executive director and will also join the senior executive committee. He will continue to be based at Oval’s offices in Feering, Essex.
